Award-winning architecture and design firm Choeff Levy Fischman has completed another home on Miami Beach’s star-studded North Bay Road. The highly sought-after architects known for designing ultra-luxury single-family residences for the rich and famous have created a residential oasis for the ultimate indoor-outdoor living experience. The fully-furnished manse is on the market for $32M.

Miami Beach’s newest mega-mansion has been unveiled by EWM Realty International top-producer and Senior Vice President Nelson Gonzalez and designed by Choeff Levy Fischman, offering the ultimate in waterfront living and year-round entertainment.

“This is one of the most notable residences to enter Miami Beach’s prime real estate market,” said Gonzalez. “The attention to detail and expert craftsmanship within the estate is unparalleled, complemented by some of the best water views South Florida has to offer. Priced at $32 million, the residence comprises an eight-bedroom eight-bath main house, a four-bedroom four-bath guesthouse, and a cabana house. The mansion is spread over 13,381 SF with 2,700 SF of covered outdoor space and a 3,000 SF rooftop deck which offers sweeping panoramas of Biscayne Bay and sunsets over the water.

Miami Center for Architecture & Design Moves into New Space

The Miami Center of Architecture & Design recently celebrated the grand opening of its new space. Located at 310 SE 1st St., it is in the heart of Downtown Miami, bringing visibility to the organization, and the design and build of the environment.

With community meeting space and educational programs, MCAD is the place for anyone who is interested in enhancing their appreciation for the city’s vibrant and unique architecture and design. MCAD is home to AIA Miami as well as the Downtown Miami Welcome Center, in partnership with the Miami Downtown Development Authority. The Welcome Center is everything Miami – cultural events, attractions, maps, history and more.  MCAD educates the public through exhibitions, lectures, tours, film series and other programs that aim to reveal the richness of design in Miami.

Today marks the first day of Architecture Month, also knows as ‘Archtober’ – a month-long celebration of architecture and design.

Once popularly known for its influential Art Deco movement, Miami has reinvented itself, while preserving characteristics from its past, to become a world-class architectural destination. Today, it’s not uncommon to hear of world-renowned architects selecting Miami as the location for their next project.

We have a deep appreciation for the architects in Miami that embody its unique styles and have put our city on the map. So, throughout the month of October we will be spotlighting our architecture clients and how they’ve impacted our local built environment.

Award-winning architecture firm, Choeff Levy Fischman, is well-known for its Tropical Modern home designs that have transformed Miami Beach’s most luxurious neighborhoods, including the Venetian Islands and North Bay Road. Choeff Levy Fischman Highlights Tropical Modernism in The Wall Street Journal

img_3139Forget thatched roofs, flamingo-pink tiles and cheesy wooden carvings. Homeowners in warm-weather climes increasingly want the look of laid-back, low-key luxury.

Tropical modern, as the style is called, combines the clean lines and muted color palette of contemporary design with the exotic woods and stone found in island homes. Many affluent buyers are willing to pay a premium for tropical-modern homes.

The style “is having quite a big revival,” says architect Iain Jackson, a professor at the Liverpool School of Architecture in the U.K. who studies tropical architecture. He says the look is popular in Hawaii, Bali, the Maldives and other high-end destinations, where it has “taken on a much more glamorous and seductive high-end feel.” At the same time, he says, the designs “are borrowing from local vernacular traditions.”

Homeowners are starting to ask for tropical modern homes by name, says Paul Fischman, partner at Choeff Levy Fischman, a Miami-based architecture firm that specializes in the style. Mr. Fischman brings exterior materials such as limestone inside for a more cohesive look between indoor and outdoor living. Colors are cool whites or beige. The designs are the opposite of the colorful Art Deco homes once popular in the city, he says. “There’s no flamingo pink,” he adds.

In Miami, attorney Howard Srebnick was inspired by Balinese architecture to build a tropical-modern home in place of a run-down Mediterranean-style home that had been on the property. To maximize the views of Biscayne Bay, Mr. Srebnick worked with architects at Choeff Levy Fischman to design a home where the “emphasis was on the outside,” he says. Mr. Srebnick, 54, spent nearly $3 million to build the five-bedroom, 9,600-square-foot home, where he lives with his wife, Sharon, and two school-age children.

The changing face of Miami Beach’s Di Lido Island: Choeff Levy Fischman has 14 properties either completed, under construction or under design

Take a drive through Miami Beach’s Venetian Islands and you’ll notice a quiet transformation taking place compared to years past. On Di Lido, the third Venetian island from the east, about 15 homes are under construction, older homes are for sale, and vacant lots are on the market.

The island is a snapshot of the current movement in Miami Beach to tear down older homes and build modern mansions.

Architecture firm Choeff Levy Fischman, which has designed the South Florida residences of several celebrities and international business leaders, has 14 properties either completed, under construction or under design on Di Lido. Those completed include 212 West Dilido, 303 East Dilido Drive and 440 West Dilido Drive.  Architect Paul Fischman recently toured the island with The Real Deal.

Stantec Architecture Firm Helps Miami’s Towers Soar
