Stantec Provides Integrated Architecture, Interior Design and Engineering Services for New YOTELPAD Miami

Global design and engineering firm Stantec celebrated the ground breaking of the new YOTELPAD Miami, the latest high-rise located in the heart of Miami’s downtown urban core. Stantec is providing all-inclusive architecture, interior design and engineering services to the 31-story hotel/condo project by developers Aria Development Group and joint venture partner, AQARAT real estate company.

YOTELPAD Miami is a new brand by YOTEL and the first on the East Coast, featuring 222 Yotel-branded “cabins” (hotel rooms), 231 “PADs” (condominiums) and amenities such as a Skytop lounge, pool deck with restaurant and bar, fitness center, co-working space and pet spa.

The hotel portion, located on floors 2-12, includes 222 cabins. The ground level will include separate lobbies for guests and residences, a restaurant, lounge, an organic matcha bar plus a co-working space, and meeting rooms on the second level. There is also smart lockers for package deliveries, as well as bike and individual storage units for residents on the premises.

The condo PADs, encompassing levels 15-30, will have exclusive amenities such as a 2,000 square-foot “Lounge in the clouds” with game area and chef’s kitchen.  The high-tech units include studios to one- and two-bedrooms and range in size from 417 square feet to 708 square feet with top-of-the-line flooring and lighting, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, custom European cabinetry and Smeg brand Italian appliances.

Stantec is a recognized global leader in architecture, design and engineering, ranked among the top 10 architecture firms by Architectural Record and top 10 global design firms by Engineering News-Record. The firm has designed numerous prominent projects throughout Florida, including Solitair Brickell; Luma at Miami Worldcenter; Midtown 8 in Midtown Miami; 17 West in Miami Beach; and Park-Line in Miami and West Palm Beach.

YOTELPAD Miami is scheduled for completion in early 2021.

Choeff Levy Fischman’s Prairie Avenue Residence Featured in Modern Luxury Miami

Award-winning architects at Choeff Levy Fischman teamed up with developer, Mathieu Massa and the interior design professionals at Dunagan & Diverio Design Group to culminate the perfect Tropical Modern Miami Beach residence.

The home showcases CLF’s signature indoor-outdoor living style, with expansive glass sliding doors, and exotic stone flooring to ensure a seamless flow between the interior and exterior. The interiors combine a palette of grays, tans and taupe boasting European custom Oak shelving, natural gray Capri stone floors, and a unique limestone fireplace.

Offering 6,300-square-feet of living space with five bedrooms and six and a half baths, the waterfront home sits of 65-feet of water frontage and allows for 180-degree waterfront views. Outdoors, an outdoor kitchen and a large swimming pool create the perfect Miami-style entertaining space.

KoDA-Designed Armazem Showroom Celebrates Grand Opening

Armazem Design, located in the DCOTA building in Dania Beach, celebrated the opening of their new showroom on January 17th.  Designed by architecture and design firm KoDA, the 6,000 square foot space leaves behind conventional showroom designs and creates an environment where customers feel at home. Armazem offers high-end home décor items, furniture and architectural products such as Bontempo, Itaca, Foscarini, Schuster and Adielle.

KoDA used subtle materials such as polished concrete and white museum-like walls to create a canvas for Armazem’s rich furniture and millwork. Texture was achieved through the use of light and shadow and pops of color highlight accents within the space. In addition to showcasing products, the new showroom also serves as an office space with glass-cubed conference rooms reserved for interactive and comprehensive design workshops.

2018 Miami Hospitality Design Awards Panel

The founders of Miami Hospitality Design Awards, Oberhausen Marketing & Public Relations, AIA Miami and the Greater Miami & The Beaches Hotel Association (GMBHA), invite you to join South Florida hospitality leaders for a panel discussion on distinctive hospitality design in Miami’s evolving neighborhoods. How Living Green Walls Improve a Space

Living green walls, vertical gardens and biophilic designs offer all the benefits of nature inside a space that not only functions as living art but also improves our well-being.

Architecture and design firm Stantec recently completed the interior design of Wix’s new office and technical center located in Miami Beach. The 24,000 square foot office features a living wall made of green moss that displays the Wix logo while enhancing workers’ lives through a connection with nature. The indoor green wall increases the oxygen level throughout the office, reduces stress and enhances creativity and clarity of thought.

A tropical modern home, designed by Choeff Levy Fischman Architecture + Design, blurs the line between interior and exterior. The house, located on Allison Island, opens out onto an atrium with two 24-foot living walls. The living walls not only bring life to the modern architecture, but they also improve the house’s thermal insulation by adding a protective layer of plants.

Patrick Blanc, a French botanist and scientist, created the living wall at Juvia restaurant in South Beach, as well as the gardens at the Pérez Art Museum. Juvia’s wall not only regulates the rate of humidity outdoors, but it also cools the air. As the human footprint expands, these qualities are important. Unlike a green wall, which faces in one direction, Blanc used different types of plants on the hanging columns to create the vertical garden at Pérez Art Museum. The vertical garden restores the habitats of countless species while providing a space-efficient way of incorporating greenery into a building’s exterior design.

Choeff Levy Fischman Makes a Splash in Luxury Pool Magazine

Choeff Levy Fischman‘s unique approach to home and outdoor living designs made a splash in Luxury Pools + Outdoor Living Magazine’s 2017 Fall/Winter issue. The Choeff Levy Fischman team received recognition as a 2017 Pinnacle Awards winner recognizing some the year’s best in pool and outdoor living designs, principal Paul Fischman discusses designing outside the lines, and founding principal Ralph Choeff, explains how his expert architectural team combines modern architecture and tropical elements to create a shorefront splendor.

Overlooking Biscayne Bay, this residential property in Miami Beach, Florida, embodies mid-century modern architecture and tropical modernism, which is carried throughout the home and outdoor living areas. With a cohesive and masterful design, the expert architectural team at Choeff Levy Fischman, along with Christopher Cawley Landscape Architecture, brought this contemporary tropical oasis to life.

“Of the utmost importance was the concept of indoor-outdoor living,” says Ralph Choeff, founding principal at Choeff Levy Fischman. To accomplish this, the entire rear façade was designed with vast sliding glass doors, blurring the line between indoors and outdoors and maximizing the bay views from almost any room in the house.

“The pool and water features were strategically positioned to interact with the interior spaces,” adds Choeff. “The pool steps and integrated spa face downtown Miami and are positioned directly in front of the interior living room lounge. This setup allows the homeowner and guests to enjoying breathtaking views of the city while relaxing indoors or outside in the pool or spa.”

Incorporating natural waterscapes was a key element to the entire design. “We bring the water theme into play right from the beginning,” says Choeff. For the approach to the main entry, stone steps over reflecting ponds give the feeling of walking on water, he explains.

At night, the city and surrounding elements light up, creating a dramatic and enchanting effect as the lights in the reflecting ponds project upward and interact with the architecture of the home. In the evening, pool lighting enhances the blue tile, giving the pool an almost purplish hue.

The outdoor living spaces include multiple gathering areas around the pool, including a sunken outdoor living room with a mid-century style fire pit and a cabana containing a large outdoor kitchen and dining area. “The entire experience, combined with the indoor/outdoor layout of the residence, gives the outdoor entertaining spaces a resort-like feel,” comments Choeff.

Stained ipe wood establishes a warm yet somewhat monochromatic style while limestone decking contrasts with the iridescent blue tile used in the pool and spa. “This sets the pool apart,” says Choeff, “especially the aboveground areas that form the infinity edges.”

Stantec Set to Design Park-Line Miami and WPB Interiors

lobby1_no-peopleStantec has been selected to design the interiors for upcoming Park-Line residential projects in West Palm Beach and Miami.

Park-Line West Palm is expected to be completed next year while Park-Line Miami, which will rise at MiamiCentral, is slated for completion in 2019. Both projects are located next to new All Aboard Florida Brightline Express Train stations, which will run between Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and, eventually, Orlando.

The design concept for Park-Line Miami is “the timeless traveler,” as the release states, with “rich leathers inspired by antique luggage and travel bags, warm woods, creamy neutral tones, and deep blues are incorporated to create a sophisticated and inviting environment.”

Stantec will design Park-Line Miami’s lobby, residential units, and curate the furniture for the amenity deck, the latter including a yoga pavilion, a dog park, a running track, a movie screening area, and a resort-style pool. The twin towers have just begun vertical construction.

For Park-Line West Palm Beach, the project will feature “tones of rich purple complemented by warmer tones of yellow” and a “dripping diamonds tile wall” that “gradients from purple to gold and silver tones.” Amenities there include a game room, a dog park, and a dog spa.
