Berenblum Busch Architects Featured on Miami Today

Berenblum Busch Architects, a global architecture, planning, and interior design firm founded in 2010 by principals Gustavo Berenblum and Claudia Busch, is one of three Miami-based architecture firms that’s helping to redevelop the “Cruise Capital of the World.”
The firm is involved in several projects including Terminal B and the design of Carnival Cruise Line’s Terminal F renovation and expansion at PortMiami.
BBA, along with Bea Architects Inc. and Bermello, Ajamil & Partners, were selected through a vetting process the county began Oct. 10, 2018.

Berenblum Busch Architects Designs Major Expansion of Carnival’s Terminal F at PortMiami

Carnival Cruise Line received approval for a major expansion and renovation of Terminal F at PortMiami designed by Berenblum Busch Architects. The expansion will accommodate the cruise line’s excel class ship for arrival in 2022. When completed, Terminal F will be the third cruise terminal at PortMiami dedicated to Carnival operations and the cruise line’s largest in North America.

BBA’s simple and open design will allow for exceptional efficiency and flexibility to accommodate Carnival’s largest class of ships, maximizing use of facial recognition technology and other elements to move guests through the embarkation process.

Carnival Cruise Line is the largest cruise operator in Miami with more year-round ships sailing from PortMiami than any other cruise line. The redesigned Terminal F will allow Carnival to continue to be the leader in the market and will enable the line to bring its next LNG ship to South Florida.

Berenblum Busch Architects Unveils Carnival Corp’s First Cruise Terminal in Japan at Seatrade Cruise Global

From April 8-11, The Miami Beach Convention Center hosted Seatrade Cruise Global, the world’s largest gathering for the cruise industry’s most significant players. This year, local architecture firm Berenblum Busch Architects, a well-known and respected force in the industry, was represented by its two Founding Principals Gustavo Berenblum and Claudia Busch. During the event, the duo unveiled a 3-D model of the firm’s design of Carnival Corporation’s first cruise terminal in Sasebo, Japan, Uragashira Cruise Terminal.

Nestled between Sasebo Bay and the area’s mountains, the cruise terminal’s design is inspired by Sasebo’s culture, its building traditions, geography, and low-scale surrounding. BBA’s 3D model illustrated their Zen and minimal design approach and highlighted the terminal’s focal point: a curving roof that extends past the building and out toward the lush hills that make the serene scenic environment.

Uragashira Cruise Terminal is expected to be operational by 2020, ahead of the Tokyo Olympic Games.
